I had a friend that progressed to the point that he could use a 4 point walker. When I asked why he still uses his chair so much, his reply was "it's just too slow to walk everywhere".

Independent means they are able to do their bowel/bladder care themselves. On top of that, some no longer have to cath, or use suppositories to evacuate.

75% are able to step using the upper body supporting rolling walker. Videos show stepping, not swinging. Some progressed to a four point walker and stopped using wheelchair at home. I don't think any stopped using wheelchair out in public, It's just too hard.
Thank you, Jim! I will follow through with Stemcyte.

It is amazing what a C 6-7 injury is able to do for him or herself following intensive physical therapy. Hard to know how much serious long term exercising is affecting outcomes. The exercising is a privilege and a pathway. Do you know if patients in the studies are working while participating?

I'd leave earlier, and enjoy every step.

It woud be tough to work unless you did it from home. The trial lasts 6 months.

Working from home is already possible. The issue will be scheduling hours. Is anyone factoring working quads/paras into the equation? It would be a shame if the folks that have found work and are managing some type of work are unable to sustain work if they seek treatment. Hard to pay without insurance and it would be unfortunate not to use insurance as often as possible to allow those who aren't currently working to receive other funding. Not sure many folks this might affect?

[QUOTE=The mom;1843381] Thank you, Jim! I will follow through with Stemcyte.

I have been told by Stemcyte that they will only allow Californian's to donate to public banks in Southern part of the state.
