    Toss Them in the Brigg!

I put before you a proposition.

Often on these forums, there are people that interfere with threads by 'threadjacking' or throwing around personal attacks. There are warnings by our hard working volunteer moderators, but no action is taken. A few times there has been banning, but is that the answer? Does it have to come to that? Many forums suspend members ability to post for a few days if they persist in violating rules. 'The Brigg' is my favorite term. Often 3-7 days in the brigg will allow offending posters to calm themselves, and allow the thread to get back on track.

This will add to the mod's work load at first, but will in a short time it will decrease it.

What say you, my fellow members? Shall we at least try it out?

I'll be interested in Dr Young's take on this since this topic just came up again yesterday in the mod forum (well actually, yet again x3).

I can't vote. CC is not a democracy. But if I were Queen of the World, I'd favor a brig and a public policy manual. I agree with you on the workload issue as well. I don't lose sleep over the ones that have been banned. It's when they run amuck and need banned that they bother me. Anyone that accomplishes bannage at CareCure worked very very hard at it.

Alas, I am not yet the Queen. When at last I am summoned to ascend to that royal position-rightfully mine because I say so- I shall knight you!

    Me likey to !

I've been visiting another message board lately and have noticed many tools available to mods to help keep lines of communication germ free..... and a "Brigg" is one option ..... temp suspensions is another ... the rules and terms of service etc. are included in the registration process that you have to click to accept before proceeding further spells out exactly what behaviour will or won't be tolerated ... another good idea!

If this is something you all want .... your input might encourage Dr.Young to take a closer look at some of these options. Maybe someone has an idea no one else has thought of yet! Good thread Spiney !

Absofuckinglutely give this a try. And don't hesitate to throw moderators in when they wander into the muck -- it doesn't happen often, but when it does they need to be held to the same standards as everyone else.

    no, everyone crys about something.

if u dont like an occassional attack, leave, as for hijacking, even an opinion that differs can hijack a thread.

can we toss ppl who are lazy fucks and whine and cry, im all for that.

I say hell yea. This place has gotten way out of control and the negativity is thicker than dog shit in here! Many old members have given up on CC and new members are being scared away. This place should be a positive resource for all and no member should be name called or put down. It's pathetic. In some cases though established members have resorted to name calling because of thread-jacking and their posts get erased or threads closed, that makes no sense @ all. I know I never refer new injuries here anymore.
