Thread: Jerry, any news?

If getting the mobile home moved to an established park would be possible, you could also check with mobile home sale lots to donate time for set-up and moving.

That was a good idea Eileen.

Maybe it's different in Florida, but most mobile home parks here won't let you put up fencing. Some won't let you have dogs. The ones that do - you either walk them or put them on leads. I"m thinking that wouldn't work with Jerry's dogs, but it's worth checking into if they have a more animal friendly approach in mobile home parks there.

Thinking of you, Jerry, and really hoping a solution appears soon.

Hoping you and your furbabies have a new home soon. Don't lose faith. I understand choosing to keep your dogs. They're your family.

Thanks Jerry. Sorry, it occurs to me belatedly to make sure you know I am paying attention and still would be happy to make any calls that might be helpful. And I wonder about the possibility of a foreclosed home purchase for you too. I know some desirable places in FL have really high foreclosure rates, though I don’t know where you are. Check out Jukespin’s thread for our thoughts about that. Please pm me if I can help with any phone stuff, and in any case please keep us posted

I failed to post that last night and see now many others are on the case with good suggestions. I’m still happy to help in any way I can--just pm.

Jerry, it wouldn't hurt to give your local Center for Independent Living a call. They often can tap into accessible housing.

    Hey Hip,

Jerry is working with the NC CIL and Disability Solutions just jumped in too. Like many states Florida also has a huge back log on HUD and section 8 housing but Jerry is going through the application process and then some.

If anyone knows of a reasonably accessible, reasonably inexpensive small house in the outer areas of Gainesville please post it to the Florida Forum and PM Jerry. With all the members we have in Florida adding a ramp and a fence shouldn't be too difficult if we can just find a house that will take 2 very well behaved dogs and a responsible tenent.

Please post further ideas, including other parts of Florida, on that forum.

    Sue

OK, first I had to look it up on a map too. Any members in the Dixie County, Florida area? Not sure yet which direction Jerry's permanent home will be headed but he prefers the rural area to Gainesville. Any help in that area would be great.

    Jerry:
If you read this, please PM or call me at the 800# tomorrow. Mark has some good rural leads.

I am concerned, can you check in with someone please?
