    Unhappy Anti-virus-1

Anti-virus-1 popped up this morning & said I had 41 threats & I needed to get rid of them. I thought it was my AVG. So I said yes to run it. Bad move. They want to sell it to me. grrr
I keep getting pop ups saying I need to run it & save my pc.
I went to my programs to delete it but it wasn't there.
I did tell it to uninstall. But it still pops up.

What can I do to stop it? It's driving me crazy.
Also where do I go to see what starts up every morning when I cut my pc on? I can hear programs running & my pc drags.

    Thank you so much! Mona

do a restore from a couple of weeks ago. That way you can use you you own spyware, virus sweeper etc. Good luck, Pam

Thanks Pam. Is that the only way? lol I'm scared to do that. I'm afraid I'll mess something up. Get rid of something I need. I know I'm silly but it truely scares me.

easiest sol'n, remove AVG & whatever Anti-virus-1 is from your system.

    get Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html - it's free & works well.

To remove Anti-virus-1 use Malwarebytes. Run the computer in safe mode.

Mona: Take a look at this link for more information and removal of Anti-virus-1. It looks like Anti-virus-1 is really no different than Antivirus 2010 or Antivirus 360. Your antivirus is your second line of defense. No one can save you from yourself.

    Good luck.

    Thanks guys!

PN that's it exactly. Everything looks just like that.
I cut my pc off and back on and so far it hasn't came back.
Be real careful y'all about agreeing to download spyware removal programs.
Because it's really the spyware itself.

    Thanks bunches for helping.
