Question Question For M.D. or R.N.s

I just found out that I have pulmonary hypertension. I've done some reading and the prognosis for this does not sound good. I'm feeling very discouraged and have a lot of questions.

I wonder if there is any relationship between SCI and PH? I have lots of damage at multiple levels (cervical to lumbar) due to osteoarthritis but most of the problems are in my thoracic cavity.

Is there any hope for reversing this problem? Is it true that the average life expectancy after diagnosis is 5-10 years? I'm only 38 years old and I'd prefer not to die in my forties!

I on't kno wof a correlation with SCI and pulmonary hypertension. My understanding is that aggressive treatment can be effective.

Danine don't quote me on this but I think the pulmonary hypertension might be more related to your sleep apnea. I seem to remember my sleep medicine dr. mentioning some sort of corelation.
