That's a great song, OJ. I wasn't even aware of the band.

I am in a melancoly mood today and so made an iPod playlist for the downer songs in my collection and set the songs to shuffle. Listening to them is making me feel better.

Just listening to samples of the Santigold album on iTunes. It's sounding great. I had heard of Santogold, but none of her music. I think you've made a fab suggestion - thanks Feisty!

    good lyrics.
Gold teeth and a curse for this town were all in my mouth.
Only, i don't know how they got out, dear.
Turn me back into the pet that i was when we met.
I was happier then with no mind-set.

And if you'd 'a took to me like
a gull takes to the wind.
Well, i'd 'a jumped from my tree
and i'd a danced like the king of the eyesores
And the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

New slang when you notice the stripes, the dirt in your fries.
Hope it's right when you die, old and bony.
Dawn breaks like a bull through the hall,
    Never should have called
but my head's to the wall and i'm lonely.

And if you'd 'a took to me like
A gull takes to the wind.
Well, i'd 'a jumped from my trees
And i'd a danced like the kind of the eyesores
And the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

God speed all the bakers at dawn may they all cut their thumbs,
And bleed into their buns 'till they melt away.

I'm looking in on the good life i might be doomed never to find.
Without a trust or flaming fields am i too dumb to refine?
And if you'd 'a took to me like
Well i'd a danced like the queen of the eyesores
And the rest of our lives would 'a fared well.

I hate it when you look into a good song and the words are bullshit. example: pop that coochie lol

    Cold Desert, RIP jbinny

I had my iPod on the home theatre on shuffle and this came on. I was never a big fan until jbinny posted this. I immediately thought of his smiling avatar, even back to the one with his ex-girlfriend. I can't remember exactly when he passed on, a few months ago. I never knew the guy but his death had a very profound affect on me. It was at that time I told myself to live this shit life to the fullest because it could be taken at any time. Young guy, full of life, blood clot in his sleep and dead. WTF. This song just brought back all those feelings while I'm getting ready to go out. R.I.P. man, I hope it's good where you are.

Fuck it I'm getting drunk tonite.

There are so many memories attached to this one for me, and I can't even listen to it without tearing up a bit, but it's helped me through some really rough times.
