I think I'd rapidly wheel in the opposite direction if I saw you coming towards me looking like that first pic. LOL Did one of those nights on last fall's cruise. Pain for 2 days.

Any info on the San Diego Airport's SW area and arriving area to curb? We fly in there in October for a cruise. Just staying overnight that trip but have asouthern CA on our land vacations list. We both have covered the Big Sur to the SF Bay area and in to Yosemite for camping pretty thoroughly. Only place we agree we would retire to right now is Monterrey....if we win the lottery. lol

Glad you had a great time. Now the difficult part begins.

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

Sue ,the airport in San Diego from Southwest gates (many) to the curb is pretty easy. There is an elevator just at the south end of the gate area to catch, then go straight to baggage claim. You can request a Skycap to accompany you and push your luggage or wheelchair. The distance is not far.

Once you have your luggage, just cross the street to Ground Transportation (again, a nice tip will get the Skycap to go with you) and you can catch shuttles or cabs there. If you want wheelchair accessible transport to the pier or your hotel, I would recommend Cloud 9 Shuttle (owned by SuperShuttle). It is about $10/person to the pier. You should reserve ahead of time on-line for the wheelchair lift equipped shuttle. Cabs are iffy.

Are you staying the night first or flying in on your cruise day? It is only 3 miles from the airport to the pier. At the pier they will escort you to the elevator (everyone else has to take escalators or stairs) to get onto the ship (depending on which pier you use).
