Ok, I'm impressed - all I did was walk unaided (ok, limp) all week with my kids & make Christmas & New Years dinner - alone - but I'll take just plain walking for now!

Brought my bike in from the garage and spinned on the trainer for an hour. Tried to keep my HR above 100. This cold weather has made me stiff too and has set off my spasms! I'm feeling it Arndog. We are going to be in the 20s later this week which is incredibly unusual for this part of South Texas. I don't think my bike will see the outdoors this week.

1 hour on the Vitaglide last night. Got home, felt like crap after a full day of work after 11 days off......I contemplated exercising, but said PHUCK it, and got it done! Worked up a good sweat and feel great this morning! Glad I did it now, but it took an hour of hitting the snooze this morning for me to get my fat ass out of the bed!

back on yesterday after 2 week breeak. im doing this prog below to reset my muscle memory then back to heavy 5x5. also skiid sunday for 3hrs in -20 windchill. doing much better.

    rick posted this,

Here is an example of a high frequency training routine that was written by Chad Waterbury one of my favorite trainers today as he uses his masters degree in neurophysiology to really understand CNS and muscular recovery to push performance to the limits.

    Day 1 - 6 sets of 3 reps
    Day 2 - 3 Sets of 16 reps
    Day 3 - 5 sets of 8 reps
    Day 4 - off
    Day 5 - 6 sets of 3 reps
    Day 6 - 3 sets of 16 reps
    Day 7 - off
    Day 8 - 6 sets of 3 reps
    Day 9 - 3 sets of 16 reps
    Day 10 - 5 sets of 8 reps
    Day 11 - off
    Day 12 - 6 sets of 3 reps
    Day 13 - 3 sets of 16 reps
    Day 14 - off
    Day 15 - 6 sets of 3 reps
    Day 16 - 3 sets of 16 pres
    Day 17 - 5 sets of 8 reps

    Day 18,19,20,21 - Rest

For training load as far as percentages you can look at it like this.

6 sets of 3 reps (use a weight you can lift 4-6 times before failure)
5 sets of 8 reps (use a weight you can lift 10-14 times before failure)
3 sets of 16 reps (use a weight you can lift 18-22 time before

Thanks for posting the workout routine info Fuente. I've been trying to get my HR up there but even before my injury I had extremely low blood pressure and a very slow heart rate. I did some competitive distance running back in the day and never had a problem. It is just weird. My rehab doc thinks I will live to 100 because of this. I've been concentrating on increasing my cadence when cycling and it seems to help. I hit the weights for an hour today.

2 hour sitski with Mark Wellman up at the nordic center. Mark was the first paraplegic to climb El Capitan in Yosemite Valley in 1989 and most of my nordic days are with him. This is a shot of us (he is the one with action figure trunk, I'm the scrawny guy on the right) from another day but ....what a day that was.

Go Sean and Fuente - my hats off to you doing what you do as quads. You guys are way tough....
