Should I get a flu shot?

I always hear a mixed opinion. Should people with SCIs get them cause we may be more susceptible to colds, flu, sickness? Im C6.

Absolutely. You should have had this in early October. Please review this thread. It is vital for prevention of the number one killer in people with SCI...respiratory illness:

Agreed. You can also get an immunization for pneumonia. I got mine a few years ago. I think you have to get it every 5? years.

Flu shots are needed annually, ideally in the fall.

The Pneumovax, which helps to prevent some types of pneumonia (although not all) should be taken once when you are first injured, and then repeated again at age 60. We no longer are giving it every 5 (or 10) years.
