Thread: Plasma or LCD?

  1. #31
LCD is cheaper, Plasma looks better. LCDs tend to be less fragile.

I recently bought a sony xbr4 and am very happy with the picture quality. You can really see the clarity especially when watching live sports in HD. And now prices are dropping.

Some news sources said prices on HDTVs were dropping further in the Holidays. I was hoping to be able to save enough for a plasma but I will have to buy an LCD instead. Plasmas look awesome.

Can't beat plasma picture - My concern is longevity. As others stated.

Hi Cowboy, Plasma works better than it used to I am looking forward buying one myself. Here is an Article I found that talks about them and It says a little on the lifespan issues and that sort of stuff. http://www.faqhdtv.com/hdtv-plasma-televisions
I hope that helps you and other members.

The Plasma showed up yesterday! I'm just waiting for the HD satalite to be installed to try it out. So the tv is pushed in the corner for now.

Here's a pic. It's blurry but I don't feel like pissing around and taking another shot.

    very nice.
I kind of wish I held out a few weeks because as soon as I bought my 1080 P 42" HDTV @ 60hz, a plasma was the same price at a diffferent store, and also another 1080 @ 120hz hah oh well i can't tell the difference while gaming.

I'm always afraid of that happening, so I searched forever and got this one for $200 under retail. It's the tv I wanted and had to get them to order it in. I just didn't want to settle for something they had in stock. So I had to wait three weeks for it to come in.

Here's the specs on it. Panasonic TH-42PZ800U
