Nice! I was thinking of getting one of those along with the Cobra fuselage as I had enough spare electronics around, but I made a Frankenheli instead...

Great videos you found Andy , Also I was surprised to find out it was a 250 that the guy set up for video flight..Man looks like he was a mile away from where he started and flying rom inside of his car..Slick

Yep, amazing it's a 250. But they do have some good efficiency compared to a 450, so I can see where he is getting a 6.5 minute flight time hauling everything for the ride. I get 7 minutes on 1300mah (stock is 800mah) on my scaler 250 with a fiberglass fuse, and a 250 will fly (marginally) with 2 2200mah packs strapped to it, but I figure sticking a single 2200mah pack on a 250 should be good for similar times to what he is doing and powering the downlink stuff.

His background RF level must be pretty much nil, flying from the fields like that. I wonder what sort of range I'd get flying in a metropolitan area with a high background level stressing the selectivity of my RX's, hmmm.

Hey Andy check this one out I found on helifreak video forum..This guy is crazy I dont know what type of heli or video equipment he has but he is all over the place with this one..

After looking at a lot of videos, I would like to start with a foam glider like these guys on youtube are doing to save cost and make it easier to fly than a heli with video..I am checking into the prices of a cheap video system, this looks neat as hell..
Here is a link to a tx rc system for 215 bucks all you need is a camera to add to it and they are resonable too.

I havent looked on ebay yet but they might have it even cheaper....
Here is a good general info site on getting started and equipment needed.. http://fpvpilot.com/

Cool stuff, I like some of the 'landings'...try that with a heli, lol.

I gotta check into this stuff, seems like a whole new flight dynamic with an 'on board' perspective vs. the ground perspective. Should be very interesting learning how to fly that.

This guy's got a good idea going...integrating the camera into the fuselage sight pod...

He's claiming something like 15 minute flight times on that heli, but wont say how. I'd say he's got some huge battery or went to something like 6S on the power. I know my 4 blader is doing 5 1/2 minutes on a 2200 pack, and that is at 1800rpm, the added drag of that 5th blade probably is sucking down even more juice. But I guess if you run short blades you can save the amperage, I know I saw a ~3 amp jump going to 335mm blades even at a 200rpm slower headspeed.

Ok, I'm starting to rig up a FPV system. Still gotta work out the extreme delay issues

How's things Andy..see you've got yourself a nice little collection of toys..does putting that camera on side like that make it awkward to fly??..do you have to compensate for the extra weight on the side or doesn't it make much difference ??
