    Ab Workout

    Hello All,

Just to give a little backround information on myself... I broke L1, L2, and T5 back in october of 07. I had emergency surgery which fused my spine from T11-T3.

Luckily I am walking unassisted and fully ambulatory/independent.

Anyway, I was wondering what were some safe excersizes I could do to target my abs. I am just concerned that the majority of what I could do would be too stressful on my back/fusion.

Anyway, If you guys have any suggestions let me know.

    Thanks,
    David

My son (an L1) uses a giant exercise ball to exercise his abs.

He lays on the floor, knees bent and the ball is on his stomach with his arms reaching up holding the ball. Then he kind of squeezes the ball and flexes the abs in a kind of modified sit-up -- but he doesn't actually pull up far. His shoulders leave the ground but thats it.

    Hope that helps.
Ugh, I've been kissed by a dog!
