Don't buy an Air, horrible general use laptop.

nafi, I should have been more clear: We have the Mac Books, but not the Macbook Air. I have heard that there are problems with the Air.

I agree with getting a Mac...As Paton said, the Macbook Air is not necesarily the best for your primary/general use computer, but you mentioned that you want it for "uni", I'm assuming you mean university & that you're looking for something you could take to class. It may not be a bad choice for that, but you'd probably want to have your primary computer at home for back-up and some of the features that the Macbook Air doesn't have... There are a couple threads on here about the Air if you want to see the pro's/con's specifically about it. Otherwise, look into a MacBook or a MacBook Pro.

ok im looking to buy a macbook but is there much of a difference between 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

im assuming one would be faster than the other? does it really matter? i just cant decide!

You would be best to buy the largest amount of installable RAM in the 2.1 gHZ rather than the buy the 2.4gHZ with smaller RAM.

If you were to consider the MacBook Pro 15" (as others have said here DO NOT BUY the Mac AIR) ... you can get the 2.4gHZ or the 2.6gHZ. If it were me I would buy the 2.4 add in extra RAM and increase the user speed of documents.

If you can get someone to install the extra RAM which is not APPLE RAM you will save 300-400 dollars. William
