Crawlspace could achieve the same + room for furnace/water + storage still setting it virtually ground level... that's what I did.
That's a really good idea
I asked it as a travel question but if you feel it's more appropriate there you can move it, fine with me
She's fully aware of my routine, never done it herself, but understands what's involved... she actually wants to learn it for emergencies.
Thanks for the suggestion but I have no interest in doing that voluntarily. I understand the time/ease trade-off you're getting but that's not an avenue I want to pursue.
I was curious for those of you who require PSW support for morning routines (bathing/toileting/etc) when you travel with a spouse/bf/gf, do you pay for a PSW to come along to handle those aspects or...
Basement accessible via lift? Build up on a crawlspace instead... it's cheaper I believe. That's what I'm doing now
Push open... tie a string/loop on the door handle to pull shut as you pass thru
Sounds like with proper maintenance/emptying and only a small amount of urolux into a large tank it should be not too much of an issue. Thanks for everyone replies so far. Keep them coming if there...
Very cool
Hi all,
My fiancee and I are reconsidering the lot we were going to build on... we're looking now potentially at a semi-rural lot 5 min outside city limits.... it would require a septic...
That looks really nice , I like the look
Happy to report that my fiancee and I have come to an agreement on a flooring for the house. Going with vinyl planking on the upper and main floor for the durability and consistency and low...
Obviously I'm going to pick what I like... I was just curious what others had done to get design ideas
I'm waffling... I am going to have stone on the lower half of my home.... I thought I'd do this:

That's a big aquarium! Thx for the pics. Like the wood. Hoping to find that mix.
It is... but it's so light it feels warmer to me... the first pic with the furniture feels 'bright'.... something like that I could potentially go with. The colours my fiance pointed out thusfar have...
I actually like that one you linked to. It has a warmer/brighter feel to me... more what I consider neutral than the grays she's pointed out to me so far that have been really gray. Thanks for that...
Yes I'm still trying to be open to choices that are not my initial. I'm trying to prompt her to suggest some that aren't her as well but so far we haven't found a middle ground yet. It's hard because...
You're correct. All wood will scratch. I can't remember my exact comment - if you quoted it exact - but the flooring guy just said oak is 'easier' to touch-up with a touch-up stick/pen... but yes all...
I'm not berating anyone. I thanked people very early on for their comments about their houses and colour choices. Yes I highlighted the 'why' I was asking that my fiance & I have differing colour...
OK well first off you don?t break up an engagement over floor color. And just because she and I have differing opinions on what the floor colour should be doesn't mean we?re not compatible.
The...
Well my plan to show my fiance a bunch of modern pics of homes with light natural wood floors and have her see you can have a modern look with the colours she likes and a warm colour failed. She...
We are pretty good at discussing things, being open & honest even when it's not what the other wants to hear.... both of us have been thru a lot together and before we met. If I can't get there on...
