Spinal Stroke in 65 yr old male day 12
I've been reading much of the posts and your articles on this site. I was able to convince our neurosurgeon and Primary care doctor that my father does not have TM in the classic sense accoding to what I have read. The neurosurgeon's current opinion is that he has had a Spinal Stroke. In one of your posts you spoke of 4-aminopyridine as treatment for ischemia. I understand this is an experimental treatment, and I would like to know if you can give me doctors who will prescribe it for my father. A little history, 65 year old male with a history of arteriosclerosis went in for a right femoral to left femoral bypass. Mode of sedation was epidural (fentanyl, bipurvicaine, sp?) via epidural catheter. Normal movement day of surgery, parapalegia day one after. There has been intermitent feeling in the lower extremites. He has feeling below the epidural site and the site of edema in the spinal column.
