Hi - here's how to enable private messages:

At the top left, click "User CP"
Under settings and options at the left, click "Edit Options"
Under Private Messaging check (click) "Enable Private Messaging"

There are also some choices about whether you want the forum (not the member) to send you an automatic email when you have a new message, or have a pop-up window, etc. You can also choose to allow any member to send you a pm (I do that myself) or only selected people.

You might perhaps ask a moderator to remove your private details from the visitor messages if you are concerned (I would do that personally).

Hi - I just happened to be looking at KiranA's profile - and your phone number and email address are visible there - I don't know if you realized that people other than KiranA can see it. I'm not sure if non-members can see it, but I wonder. I just wanted to let you know.

Just a suggestion - perhaps you might want to enable private messages - then no one except the person you are talking to can see them.
