Yes, that sounds right. We had to adjust the door closing so that would be the same concept. If I remember right all you need is a 9/16 socket to take the motor off (with the wires still attached). There are two bolts that hold it on, just loosen them up almost all the way out and the motor will slide off. Turn the end of the actuator clockwise with a large flat head or a pair of pliers, its real easy to turn. They recommend a half turn each time then check it. On the horizontal one it was a 5 min job.
When I took my truck in to Advanced Mobility to exchange out the actuator I went to the Mesquite location. Ray was the mechanic who knew what he was doing so request him if you take it in.
