I just started self catherization Monday, it's a bit un-nerving. Since I have no insurance I must use my caths over. As I read some posts on cleaning I noticed 2 things I wasn't doing. Letting my caths dry for 24 to 48 hours in a towel, and then placing them in a "paper bag" for storage. I wash them thoroughly with the same anti-bacterial soap I was my hands and place them on paper towels with a cover of paper towels on top after shaking the excess water off. I was then going to store them in a plastic zip lock for future use. My wife is now having me use a baby bottle cleaner to sterilize them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
