You are NOT alone in this. There are folks here who care what you are going through. Please don't give up! There are various ways that you can even learn to type here...(mouthstick, or maybe a hand device, or even voice recognition program.

Your life is NOT over...it's just taken a new path...and you must be strong and keep your attitude of hope alive!!!

It sounds like you have a family who cares about you...and that is a great thing...but you can learn a lot here about coping with SCI, and you can make new friends here too...you are already on the right track...so take care of yourself...and keep in touch with us! I'm not sure if you saw the search bar at the top right of the screen. You can type in words and just search the forums here at carecure...or you have the option of searching the entire internet...and there will be a listing generated of posts about that subject...

but about 2 weeks later we found out that he shattered his shoulder in the accident also. They then did shoulder surgery but they did not fix it properly cause he still cannot do nothing with it. We got him rehab for 1 month and they just taught us basically how to take care of him only. He is having such a mentally and physically hard time with this...He is having autonomic Dysrhflexia (AD) attacks and we have had him in and out of the hospital for this numerous times and none of the doctors seem to know or understand anything about it. We cannot even find a doctor to accept my son so if you know any information on how to go about getting him the care he needs please let me know i need help. Thanks for reading.

Hey I am doing this for my son he is 23 years old and he has a c5 and c6 break. He is a quadrapligic. Well he got in a car accident on August 7,2008 in Alabama where we were living at the time.... We now live in Florida because we had to move to a wheel chair accesible home to acomeidate his needs. We dont know how the accident happend he does not remember any of it. He was in the hospital for 3 months and on a venalator for a month and half of them 3 months. He had a chest tube,feeding tube which he kept for about 2 months..
