Saw your posts from a year ago along w/Bob and JeJen etc. I'm an 'incomplete' quad 6 years now. Suddenly, chronic UTI's since Sept. 2010. Just started using Vetericyn to clear urethra and spray caths. My urologist hadn't even considered colonization in the urethra. A garage machanic would have. Leila, I'd like to know--have you made any head-way in the organization of clinical trials? I'm very interested in this on a few levels. We're a specific population... Thanks again for sharing your discoveries and for that thorough & impassioned letter (to W.Y).

I have started using oxum solution to spray on the urethra and catheter before cathing. Thank you.

    Hi Dave,

Until you get the Vetericyn, leaving it open to the air is a great idea. Keep it clean, but not with anything harsh. When you get the Vetericyn, start applying it several times a day, letting it air dry if possible. The Vetericyn will eliminate all microbial load from the wound, plus it will reduce inflammation. It also loads the wound bed with oxygen ions, and this accelerates fibroblast formation. You can work out your own routine--some people use a thick gauze pad soaked with Vetericyn, and leave it right on the wound for quite awhile. Deb can work out what's best for her.

    Good Luck!

    Hi Susanne,

You did (are doing) a wonderful job of getting the Microcyn etc. information out. I hope more people understand the usefulness of your information and start accepting and using the procedure. It's such a simple concept yet some people still refuse to see. And for their refusal are paying a heavy toll in terms of unnecessary colonizations and full blown UTIs. I'm still colonization and UTI-free after 5 years (I think it's going on 5 years in October... maybe 6) and my urine is still perfect. No antibiotics. And to think that I used to say "I've never met an antibiotic that I didn't fall in love with." Haha. The more I read about antibiotics the scarier they become. Those damn things are toxic and should only be used when absolutely necessary.

    How is John doing?

Take care of yourself.... you've spent a lot of energy here trying to enlighten the members.

    Bob.
