Hi Kate, John Martinson here and I hope you had a safe trip home! It was a pleasure meeting you at the W2W and I bought your book and I'm excited to read it. It was a big positive impact in my life being able to go to the day at the races with Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation and the Working To Walk Chicago. I met so many inspirational people like yourself, Sam Schmidt, Ida Cahill, Bruce, Susan, Dr. Young, Dr. McDonald (Hollywood) Kay, Cindy, Dr. Stephen & Jeannette Davies, Marilyn & John Smith, Joe, Larry & Kathy, Deborah, Ron, Justin, Donna & Matt, Pete, Martin, Anne and so many more, I just want to say THANK YOU!!
Kate, I just wanted to say that I just finished your book and it was wonderful. My son is a T5 incomplete. He was rear ended by a drunk driver in Jan.05. He has made incredible progress and is independent in everything. When I read your book it took me back to so many of the sights and sounds of that time period in our life. I hope that Bruce and the girls are doing well. Thanks again. Shelly
hi Kate, I'm not sure if you are a nurse or if you can answer this but I thought I would try anyway.
My husband Scott, is a C6 quad and has the symptoms of a dvt in his right leg. We plan on seeing a doctor tomorrow who can ultrasound it but until then do you think he should stay in bed to avoid breaking up the clot and it moving to his heart or head?
Thanks for any help you can give us
