Just a wee post to let you know you are still in my heart and I think of you often! I, for some reason started to cry last friday and couldn't stop.. I thought of you and the things you have written to me! I continue to cry.....God knows why.. I wish I was as strong as you, I really do. My mother hasn't spoken to me for 6 weeks now..I just wish she was as understanding as you are! I get married in 3 weeks.I am exhausted, in bed and in pain.........
I hope things are going well for you! However with this bloody weather it would depress even the most cheerful person!

    Gentle hugs

You sent me a pm in April, and I feel so bad that I have never replied. I just wanted to let you know I think of you often and pray that things are okay with you. You have a very strong spirit and your pm really touched me!!
I promise to get back to you
I hope that your recovery is progressing well!!

    Hi Muriel,
another Irish here, but actually living in France. I did have my accident in Ireland though and spent time in hospital/rehab in Belfast and then far too many months in DunLaoighaire rehab. I'm a T4 complete, so not the same injury but if you ever want to vent or 'talk', don't hesitate to send me a pm. Your injury is so recent and it takes a lot of time to come to terms with it, and get the right information that can help you make the best of it. I wish you well. - Barbara

    Hi Muriel
I live in Ireland but my sister and her husband live in Germany. I have found the approach to him to be far less positive and encouraging than seems to be the case in the US in particular. I always had the impression that Dun Laoghaire did prepare people well for life post-SCI and that the Spinal Injuries Association was fairly active? Seemed to us to be better than Germany at any rate! My brother in law spends his days lying on his back in a nursing home even though he showed some return of function to his left arm after intense therapy. Very frustrating. Great to hear from you!
