  1. Hi, I am new here. I am the mother of a 6 year old boy who was diagnosed with syringomyelia when he was two years old. He does not have Chiari nor has he sustained a spinal cord injury. He undewent teathered cord surgery last fall. Unfortunately that didn't stop the syrinx from growing. He is now complaining of pain at the site of the syrinx. Our nuerosurgeon says that is atypical and does not believe it is related. Has anyone had pain at the site of the syrinx? His doctor's are unable to determine the cause of his syrinx. His deteathering was done due to the fact that he has this syrinx, scoliosis and a very large, closed, sacral dimple. Thanks in advance.
