Holly, i don't think we live very far away. I live in Charleston Corners which is near Sheldon and Waters. Have you received any messages from RAFS? He lives in Oldsmar, i think. For a while he kept contacting me about getting together for lunch. We never got together - i stay pretty busy with work. However, I check into CareCure every day and try to answer anyone who has written. It's good to know there is some else on CareCure close by. Where did you live in CA? My wife and I lived in San Fran for 2 years and loved it. Couldn't afford to live there though - too expensive. Mike

On August 27, 1992 I began a new, unexpected life. My kids were 17 and 20 in college and happy. My husband was in the Air Force, stationed out of state. I went into the hospital for a laminectomy at c6; little did any of us know I would never walk out. The doctor made a mistake and drilled through my spinal cord at c5/c6. The rest, you all know. It is about making the choice to live or not to live. I have chosen to live the best I can even though I have constant neuropathic pain and can't seem to find good doctors who care any more! Oops, but I can get off on a tangent. 22 years later, 4 grandchildren, still the same husband (amazing), and a dog! Life isn't too bad, even with paralysis.
