I will definitely keep you posted. You can contact me via my private email address. It is easier for me actually. You can also visit the neurogelenmarche.org forum and post questions there, although there isn't much traffic on it. Jean-Luc and Pierre are too busy trying to get the project going. Understand they will be meeting with the Affsap (French FDA) soon. Funding is the main issue, yes. Several neurosurgeons are interested. Dr. Reis is working on the operating protocol. I know what you mean, I really want to walk... I understand the therapy will restore sensory function and resolve neuropathic issues - which is a huge problem for me. I do hope it helps repair your vocal cord... that would be a good question for Pierre!
I can't speak, as I have vocal cord paralysis, but please keep me updated as far as Neurogel therapy goes. It's a very interesting concept for sci
Are they planning on doing trials in the near future, or is there still a funding issue or what?
I expect to be walking before talking, but That's what I want more
hi, I know it hasn't been long since I last talked to you. But is anything going on with the Neurogel movement?
lakboy, I am not an expert. Visit the neurogel website. You can contact Pierre Rondio or post your question on the forum. All I can tell you is that the lesion is scraped, the gel is inserted in the cavity and we already know that reconnection occurs. A combination therapy will be added to maximize results. EPO apparently helps. Pr. Gorio, of the University of Milan has done extensive work on EPO. Progesterone and possibly adult stem cells would also possibly be injected. The patient would leave the operating table healed; however, his/her brain would have to be retrained. This is why the Association is asking volunteer patients to commit to as much as three years of intensive physical therapy(depending on the level of injury; incomplete would be much less; paraplegics could have a home program). The therapy should be done in one of the specialized centers (Detroit in the US, I believe).
hi, tell me more about it. i dont think that the bone marrow stem cells are crock , it is just that the method of transplantation was different.they gave a lumbar puncture. actually if given at the site of injury , they would be more effective.
I physically can't speak or use a phone but my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org.... I am in tampa florida
the concept of Neurogel excites me although I am ineligible for the clinical trials as my injury is C4,I will always be following the Neurogel news... Keep us updated with the latest... Thanks!!
