    Dry it, get off it. I had this, it turned into a stage 4 wound+. C dif and dam near killed me. Took 2 years of work to straighten it out.

    IMO weight savings would be virtually nonexistent, and safety would be compromised. I think trying to save weight in fasteners by reducing their diameter or hollowing them out would be unwise.

    Hijacking threads is a way of life here. :-)

    Use Schrader. Does not matter to me. I would recommend against using gas station compressors though.
