    His name is George and he is 6. We inherited him from a friend's mother that passed away a year ago. I never had a bird before and he is spoiled. Rides on my shoulder like a supervisor. We had to trim his wings as he kept smacking into the patio window. I'd love to see your birds picture. He is sure entertaining and has a personality. Wished he liked hubby (SCI) more.

Biography:
i'm a student at TxCC studying studio art

i dont have a SCI, i have a genetic neuromuscular disorder called mitochondrial disease complex 1 deficiency, and a genetic collagen disorder called ehlers danlos syndrome. i have spina bifida occulta at l5-s1, which was caused by the ehlers danlos syndrome, and have had 2 small TIA strokes due to the mitochondrial disease. i have been diagnosed with HSP, but it is still un-clear if i have it or not, since mitochondrial disease can have similar symptoms.

i use a manual wheelchair (quickie GT) and a powerchair (permobil c300), a G tube for venting/draining, a J tube for feeding for nutrition, a cough assist machine, chest PT, a pari nebulizer for meds and saline, and AFO braces.
i also wear hearing aids in both ears as i am HoH.

i have a black lab service dog named weezie.
i swim and bowl for special olympics connecticut, and surf. i played sled hockey until i lost too much upper body strength.
