I loved that movie, read all about the guy and saw a documentary about him.

  9. i have used a waterbed most of my adult life. after injury, i tried the tube kind but didn't like it so went back to the simple bag kind. i have padded sides which aid in transfers. am a c7 and learned how to get in and out w/no transfer board so that's not a prob. as far as press sores, never had one except on my elbow (leaning on it at work) and one long time ago on my heel (cause unknown). this is in 24 yrs of being c7, asia B. the waterbed is great. in winter, it keeps me warm and in summer, it cools me down. i even lay mostly on one side any more, no probs. in terms of the bag type, you can get motion reduced by different percentages (e.g. 50% waveless), but i pretty much stick with regular because the motion doesn't bother me. hope this helps. feel free to ask more. oh, and i am definitely more comfortable in my waterbed but not sure if it really helps relieve pain. i do know after a trip in hotel rooms, i cannot wait to get home to my waterbed.

I'm sorry you're in a lot of pain right now, Cass. The only thing I can say is that most teens at 16 are tough to deal with, but it's just a phase and this, too, shall pass. Hang in there.
