  1. Wow… Beautiful speaker stands, but man don't they come at a price! I'll have to think about this/investigate further. I know my B & W 801s actually have an optional 11 inch stand designed specifically to get the base drivers further off the floor and bring the tweeters more in line to your ear. They're supposed to significantly tighten up the low-frequency response. Just haven't gotten around to buying a set yet, because my speakers came pre-mounted with a 4 inch box to raise them up off the floor. Probably doesn't decouple the speaker from the bottom boundary as good as it could though.

    Hey,

    Rather than the room treatments you are planning try these http://shop.mapleshadestore.com/departments.asp?dept=60
    They claim speaker issue are not usually due to the room, but are due to base of the speaker. If they don't help, you can return em. Putting mine up on blocks with spikes like these resulted in dramatic improvement.
