    mags85, I am sorry that I did not see both of your messages until today. I am not sure what to say in response to your situation. You don't describe your surgery and so I am assuming that this is to decompress your spinal roots (since you say C2-6 are fused) . While surgery carries some risk of functional loss, surgery may relieve the pressure that is causing the sensory loss that you are describing. I am pretty certain that the doctor would not be recommending surgery unless he/she believes that you will lose function without the surgery. If you choose not to have the surgery, it seems likely that you will progressively lose more function. If you choose to have the surgery, it may make you worse but it may also prevent further loss. I am very sorry to hear about other medical problems in your family but you should not be basing your decisions on them. In my opinion, you need to make the best decision for your body.

  2. hi I am very down after hearing I may have to go back in and have another operation but I have no choice if I dont I will slowely fall into a crumbling mess and if I do Im not guarenteed to come thro it c3-4-5-6 is deteriating and c2 is inoperable any advice any one can give or support at the mo would help, already had one op laminectomy and dble fusion which resulted in left side weakness, swan neck and downward giater its took me 4 yrs to pull myself up from the last one
