I work for dept of navy, gs-2210 computer specialist, I did get the special rate for a few years.
I did just pass my comp date (oct13th) so i went from 52 percent to 54 percent, i only have 6 more years to go, but i'm ready whenever they will let me go. and I've made that known to the dept head and the mid-atlantic region dept head, but yes haven't seen any buyouts coming at all

I know we went thru a rif in 2005, they handed out all the info to everyone but me, when I asked why not me, they told me my series is a special rate cuz it's hard to fill and I wasn't getting it.
of course I was a few months short of 25 years service, so i wasn't really qualified to leave at the time, maybe that had something to do with it also.
and when I looked up my scale back in janurary, it was the regular pay anyways, so I guess they did away with the special rate.
and with nmci ending this coming september, my boss tells me not to look for a buyout anytime soon, oh well, i figure the longer I stay the bigger my pension, of course oct 13, 2015 will be gone anyways.

yep, that special IT pay was nice while it lasted. I'm kinda glad, i'm trying for them to get rid of me with a buyout, but when you're in that special pay plan a buyout is not a option.
and yes, i got my step 10 this april

the catch is, you can't lose money when converted back to gs
I'm still gs, but there's a whole line of supervisors here that makes different pay, whoever kissed ass best makes the most, i know they can't just convert everyone back to gs11's, some make more than a 12 now, we'll see

I lived in IN 10 yrs ago. at 1st i hated it.....i moved there from Texas and the adjustment was hard until i met some friends. i work as a chem sales rep and worked with farmers & retailers that sell directly to growers (corn & soybeans as i'm sure u know) I moved with my company to central California. I do the same thing here but there r so many other crops....grapes, almonds, cotton, corn, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, citrus, peaches, walnuts, pistachios etc etc etc. My accident was sept '07, i am back to work now workin 4 the same co. r u injured or r u a family member?? anyway, like i said i saw the fishers IN and it reminded me of my time there.....good times
