    harleydavison1,

I think that new president will be very supportive of the spinal cord injury research but that he won't not be able to increase the budget by much, at least this year and probably not for another year or two. So, the support will be moral rather than financial at the beginning. He did support the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act and I think the Democratic Senate will pass it this time around, over the holds of Senator Coburn.

Regarding stem cells, it is a bit late. California, New Jersey, New York, and other states have alread started funding stem cell research in a significant way. California alone is spending more money on human embrynic stem cell research than NIH is spending on all human stem cell research. So, we should expect large advances in the field in the coming years. Let's now think about how George W. Bush held back research in the field for nearly 8 years.

    Wise.
