I am a polio case, I wear my first KAFO since 13, after the hip bone surgery. Before that I was just using crutches.

I can't remember how many KAFO I have wore. I think around 8 or 7. I only wear on my right leg.

I only started to use wheelchair since 3 years ago, where I have shoulder tear, doctor advised me to rest my shoulder, not to walk too much on my crutches.

After so many KAFO I have wore, only the very last 2 KAFO is really fit me and give me good support and the most comfortable one.

I design the last two KAFO, base on some sample I read on website.

I really hate leather and all the straps, it can't really support me well. If the strap is too tight, my leg feel painful, if it is not tight enough, support is not enough too.

I hate the technician in my country too, they just want to make money, and never willing to listen to what I want. Not until I insist my design, they won't do anything really fit me. But I am still not satisfy with their workmanship.

Hopefully getting something even better. Have you heard of the Stance Control KAFO? And also some other new design?

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. My wife and I are 9 weeks pregnant and told our families yesterday for the first time. I don't have very much experience handling babies and now I have to do it from a chair but i'm sure I can adapt : )

It looked like you hand cycle? If you do what kind do you have and do you enter races? My doctor wants me to race. I was a marathon runner and a daily runner prior to my accident. I just loved to run. I have to get some kind of hobby and thought of the hand cycling. Hope you had a great day today. Take care,

thank you for making a friend request. My problem is that I am politically active in trying to get NIH to spend more money on central pain. However, at CareCure I tend to sound off. I think it would be best if I were anonymous so I can do what has to be done. Hopefully, the NIH will get a little money out of the trilliions the govt is spending.

The guitar in the background is a 1967 Jose Ramirez "Blue Label", Segovia model. One of my most prized possession, if there is such a thing! It is in poor repair, unfortunately, and needs a neck reset and fret work.

I play mostly steel string acoustic and classical music. Folk, bluegrass, Bach, and some acoustic stuff (e.g. Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Jim Croce, Leo Kottke, Ben Harper, etc).

The chair is a Lasher Sport BT-MG. Custom made, one of a kind type chair. It's the best chair on the planet, IMO! Saved for ever to get it, but its been worth every penny.

I'm portly to & have a gut from failed abdominal reconstruction years ago after my umbilicus was removed because of post-op infection from umbilical hernia repair. Glad to hear that your new uniform is much better quality then the old standard.
You have every right to be damn proud of your girls. If you don't have bragging rights no one does.

Oh, one thing. Are you bye chance going to the Veterans Wheelchair Games in Spokane this coming July? I don't know how far away Spokane Washington is from you. Thanks for your kind words. Yeah I had to purchase a new uniform some time ago - "portly" for my quad gut. Much better quality than the old standard.

My girls are all grown now, damn proud of them.
