I looked at your pictures, thanks. Great dog pictures and you have a lovely family!

Max will be three June 1. That same month and year (June 7) I had to put my black lab Dugen down. He was the best. Max isn't a good walker either but hopefully some day it will get better.

I have a poker stars account too, but I don't use it because it seems like their software is always dated looking, and, like you will go to click on something and you will have to click on it 2-3 times, it always seems like it's lagging. That's awesome that they let you take the money off before the ban though.

Yeah, in limit poker you will always get that person who will just keep checking and then calling your raise. The only thing I really like to play on poker stars was their double or nothing sit and goes

I love to play poker. I also had an online account and that's were I played most of my poker. When they closed the poker website I had over $1000 on my account... fulltilt says they are working on getting people their money back, I really hope I get that back. As for playing at the hard rock... I press with my one hand on the edge of both cards, and that lifts them up just a little bit,, then I put my thumb underneath to lift the cards up, sometimes it takes me a while but the players there were helpful and nice. Some even helped me with my chips, but I mainly just kept my chips cluttered everywhere.... ha ha. I played $1/$2 no limit. That's the low stakes, I don't know about limit poker, because I'm better at no limit. I've been to the hard rock at Tampa, but that was before I could gamble... it's nice
  6. Sounds like you have a good plan. I hope everything works out well for you.

I met my wife after my injury. Unfortunately, driving did not work out for me due to weakness in my arms. Shortly after taking off my arm would fatigue and I'd temporarily lose movement in it.

Not sure what you will feel 15 miles from the ocean. Are you able to drive?

I'm a C-5, C6 complete quadriplegic. My dad is going to move down with me. He's going to stay with me and help me get set up. I already found an agency that I liked when I was down there and I think I'm going to use them. My dad will live with me until everything is under control i.e.… Good caregivers, and my bp & showers go smoothly. He said he is going to look for a place in Weston, because he knows a few people out there and it's not that far from where I am. 10-15 min.

Did you meet your wife after your injury? Can you drive?

I'm about 15 miles inland from the beach of Fort Lauderdale. Will I still get a seabreeze there?

Do you like it there? Also, how long have you lived in Florida? A couple of the questions. How long is it hot and humid for? I know in Fort Lauderdale it stays hot all year round, but I don't mind the heat, it's the humidity that can get to me sometimes, but I still preferred over a cold winters day any day.

I've been to Tampa (twice), Orlando (twice, that's also where I got injured), Clearwater, in Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale was my favorite. I really liked the diversity of people down there, everyone seems friendlier too. I lived in North Carolina for one year when I was in fourth grade, and there was definitely a stark difference between the North and South. The people in the South were much friendlier and nicer… I think it's that southern hospitality.

I'm moving to Sunrise Florida... it's basically Fort Lauderdale. I don't know if you are familiar with the area or not, but my house is about a half-mile from the Sawgrass Mill Mall. I'm moving to this place... the development is called Artesia. What part of Florida you live in?

"I don't believe in God and don't spend much time thinking about the creation of the universe or the human race either. I'm a firm believer of the Golden rule and try not to offend those of faith unless they start getting "preachy"."

Doingtime,I was going through OX's past threads and saw your post.I said that's exactly how I feel.I think it has alot to do with my mother and my respect for her,and I converted instead of always having been atheist.I am only human, maybe that's why I filter my thoughts on the subject...unusual for me I know.I don't think I can disrespect by crossing the line.I come close to the line, but try not to cross it...religious beliefs are SENSITIVE.

    I love the quote.

Just south of Deming, couple hours from Albuquerque. The food is definitely unique here, it's strange to travel out of the state and eat "mexican food."

Hey mate. Yeah the old guy was and is a true gentleman often deferring to the band who it must be said were all brilliant in their own way.And yes there were about 4 or 5 encores.Oh and yeah there was and an intermission which was great for the drunkards such as myself who fled to the bar.

Your equanimity and kindness to others is to be admired, Rob. Great family, and I hope things work out for you with the colostomy should you go that route.
  28. Thanks, bud! I liked your photos as well. Nice family and I love your two dogs.

    Hey Rob,
I saw in one of your posts recently you stated that your considering colostomies? Do you mean that you will have two bags hanging off your belly or just one for your bowels? Funny in a way that you are because I've cosidering the same thing. Last time I saw Dr. Del Vecchio,Urologist @ VA I had asked him if I could try taking the sp catheter out for awhile & using a bag sealed over the stoma instead to catch the urine. He said my stoma was to low on my belly. I have to go back in early February 2009 to see him as he will be gone most of January on vacation to Argentina to visit his family. I'm considering a possible colostomy also because I'm tired of fighting w/my bowels to clean me out. I spend a lot of time in the bathroom sitting on the toilet & nothing comes out.
Check out this e-mail group on YAHOO! it's called
Ostomates_R_US. You have to join the e-mail group first then wait to be accepted by the moderator. It's an active group of guys n women. I also have a telephone number for a guy in California who is an ostomate & he sells a belt that you wear to support the colostomy. I believe he has it just for his bowels. On the Yahoo! e-mail group there is one or two people who have a colostomy as well as a urostomy.
Jimmy Smith is considering a colostomy also & having his urinary procedure reversed to a urostomy instead of cathing thru a stoma in his belly. His leaks so he has to wear a bag to catch the drainage.I don't think Jimmy has a bladder anymore. I think it was removed when he had the urinary procedure. He has to cath quite a few times a day around the clock. That must be a pain in the ass. I know it was for me the other night I went to bed w/o a bed bag. I just plugged my sp catheter & it seemed like I was up every 2 hrs or so all night long peeing in the toilet. I tried wearing a diaper to bed a previous night & wound up wetting the bed anyway. So so far for me the sp catheter is the best solution to date. May be I will just stick w/it & put up with the leg bag during the day & the bed bag at night.

If you want to talk about colostomies I've done a lot of reading & read peoples stories about what they go thru living with a colostomy or a urostomy or both.

Take care. Let me know what you would like to do.

    Regards,
    Bob
