I am so, so sorry Cass ... I really am and I wish I could help you or do something ... but I can't have those phone numbers or the name of the paramedic or his/her superior up on this site. Not a good idea for you, them or us.

Did you ever try following up with Sue Charlifue - the name I gave you before - she's the apparent 'expert' with regard to aging with paralysis.

What meds do you take for pain? Have you tried anything else for pain such as acupuncture or meditation or pot? ... I'm sorry I'm not much help in this area. I was blessed in that regard.

C5-6 is directly over my thyroid, if that is any help. (Got the scar to prove it. It confuses doctors, because it looks like my thyroid was removed.) I assume C7 is right beneath it...

I'm so sorry, cass. Why are you arguing with an emt? Is there any way you can get in some hot water?

I feel for you my brother. I think some days the pain gets so bad that I wonder I can I keep going on like this, but then a day comes when the pain isn't so bad and I find myself smiling more.

Don't give up just yet, better days will come.

Stay strong!

Cass,

I'm sorry to hear about your pain and I wish I could give you some actual advice that would help. This is the closest I have though...

If you're anywhere near Tacoma the University of Puget Sound has PT and OT clinic every semester (1st semester is PT and 2nd semester is OT). All the students are supervised by clinical instructors and have access to many assessments and resources. We spend the first 4 sessions simply assessing our clients.

I don't know what could be found and done that hasn't been done before, but it might be worth a shot. I'm one of the student OT therapists there now.

I think I can guess what this is about from a previous post.

No good advice I'm afraid just good wishes and positive thoughts.

I hope when I mentioned hot water, you know I was being literal. Not meaning to imply you'll get in trouble from the EMS LOL. I re-read, and thought Dang these double meanings. Heat helps my pain.

Feel better, lady.

Cass, so sorry to hear that you are having so much pain both physical and otherwise. Wish I had a magic wand so I could wave it and make it all go away from you. I know it does little for you to tell you to hang on in there but I will however keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Betheny, that is what I read, and got so confused.

Cass, what ever is going on, I am sorry to hear it.

Between the lines, pain and your neck?

Have you tried one of those neck things that go in the microwave? I have a sock with rice in it that I use for my shoulder.
