A previous post on video games (http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=86956) got me thinking that there may be quite a few of us that have PS3s, and since I could not find a thread with members' PSN User IDs, then I fiigured I'd start one myself. With that said, if you have a PS3 and PSN User ID then please go ahead and share that information here.

Having difficulties getting the wireless connection sorted - problems with DSN numbers. But I am online some of the time, when I have the ethernet cable I use for my laptop available.

Adding. And those kills are still quite an accomplishment considering that the majority of opponents are young and wiry teenagers that have wicked-fast reflexes. I think you're doing great!

You can add your own avatar. unfortunately the only way i know is through a linux prog that uploads mp3 and jpg to ps3. Its a little frustrating.

Pah. I don't have linux. :o I really want Raz from Psychonauts as my avatar. I've got this as the picture for my local (?) user name - that is, one of the two users my machine has (the other is my boyfriend), so the picture's already on my machine. Quite aggravated I can't do anything else with it.

Ah well. Later I'm gonna try and beat big boss Berial from the Devil May Cry 4 demo that I got free from the PS store. Have you guys tried (m)any of the demos?
I wonder if they differ much or at all from what we get in the UK.

Surprisingly, there's actually some really good demos available. Some of the best demos I've played are Jericho, Stuntman Ignition, and Dirt. Jericho is probably the highest on my list to buy, although I don't see making a purchase any time soon.

Surprisingly, there's actually some really good demos available. Some of the best demos I've played are Jericho, Stuntman Ignition, and Dirt. Jericho is probably the highest on my list to buy, although I don't see making a purchase any time soon.

I just checked Jericho out - a FPS! :) I've not seen that on my demo store, but then I haven't checked them all.

Yesterday I downloaded a trailer for Lost Planet. I'd seen ones on YouTube, but the download from the PS Store was MUCH better quality.
That's the game I'm most looking forward to next.
It's a third person shooter.

Also looking forward to Little Big Planet (late this year - hopefully), and Tomb Raider Underworld (same).

Mind you, I suppose being late in the year I can ask for them for Christmas.

Argh! PSN-related rant incoming. (Sorry cvelusc, but as my rant is PS3-related, I thought I'd do it here).:)

Can't get online wirelessly at all. Got the thing Chess suggested, and a flash drive to transfer info, but me and my bf keep getting DNS error.:mad:
It's really frustrating not being able to get it sorted out.

you guys might have tried this already, but it's a shot in the dark. Try going to network settings and entering your DNS manually. Also, check to see if your WEP is enabled and have the correct SSID spelling. I spent two days trying to get Kbuntu online just to find out my SSID was spelled wrong....LOL.

Well, my bf is sure the numbers he's entered manually are the right ones.

The PS3 accepts the IP number, but then it says "failed" when it gets to the DNS.
Must the DNS numbers be wrong if we keep getting told it's a DNS error?

I could scream with annoyance at not being able to sort this.
And I'm thinking maybe you might want to scream with annoyance at my constant questions and moaning about this. :o

no worries, i like to help when i can. only thing else i know is to swap out DNS from router and isp from primary to secondary. If that doesnt work then id google for a sony ps3 customer service/help line.

Can't get online wirelessly at all.
Hmm... Sounds like a router issue. I imagine you have a laptop or desktop that connects to the internet wirelessly? Depending on the router, you might have to open "ports" to permit the PS3 to communicate with PSN. But first, I'd see what happens when connecting the PS3 to the router with a wired connection, rather than wireless. All you need is a network cable that is (hopefully) long enough to reach the router.

I'm glad to say that I can get online with an ethernet cable. It's just the wireless bit that's the problem. I've actually not used my laptop (or anything else) wirelessly, so I don't know if that would work either.
I think I'm happier sticking with wires for now - I know where I am with them. :)

I love the PS Store. Whenever I have the PS3 internet connected, I like to have a good look at what's new.
Lately I've been messing around with themes. Currently I have the Snakeball one (I've been enjoying the Snakeball demo).

I recently got an American PS account. And the US PS Store is MUCH better than the European one!
I can now see why there is so much moaning from Europeans on the internet about how bad our store is compared to others.

US store has many more demos, wallpapers and themes, trailers, well, everything.
I got the Eternal Sonata demo from the US store - it's not on the EU one yet, and no idea when it will be.

My sister just got a PS3 after I got her addicted to LittleBigPlanet. We have tons of fun playing together. I just played with her tonight, but we had connection issues which meant one of us getting kicked out of the game. Ack.
