Okay, I have had leopard for nearly two months but still am discovering new things that I can do on it almost every day. I thought that I would just list some of the things here.

Display fonts with with Cover Flow

What is Cover flow? Well, if look on the upper left side of your finder window, you will find a button next to the ones that allow you to display the contents of the disc in icons, columns, list, or cover flow.

If you go to your System folder, go to the Library folder, find and open up the Font Folder, press the cover flow button, and select one of the font files, you may see the following. I have chosen a Japanese font just for illustration. If you press the space key, a window will appear, showing you the font. Here is what it looks like.

Sweet! I just noticed after trying what you said, that if you leave the extra window open with the entire alphabet/numbers From hitting the spacebar, you can hit the down/up arrow to scroll thru all the font types without having to hit the spacebar for each font type :)

By the way, what you say is true of documents as well. If you turn on coverflow, select a file, and then hit space, you will have a window that displays the contents of the file. This works for pictures and most text files. You can scroll up and down to see the contents of the file. You don't have to open the file. This is all part of Finder. It is the fastest way to navigate and see what is in your files.

Leopard has a feature called "Web Clips" which allows you to put any web page or part of a web as a Dashboard widget. It is constantly updated and doesn't require a browser. Some examples of use... you want to see an election outcome or stock, population, national debt, etc.

Here is the first
1. Exposé your Photos
If a number of images are open in Preview at the same time, you can view a full screen slideshow by choosing Slideshow from the View menu or by pressing Command-Shift-F. Once the Slideshow has started, press I or click the "Index page" button in the toolbar. This make a contact sheet of all the images, with exposé style animation. Shift-click for slow motion as usual.
