Heya
I'm a newbie.. so a quick intro.. I'm 22, live in the UK and am a uni student. I'm a quad - not through SCI but I developed a disease similar to MS when I was 16 and can now no longer really move. I have a teeny amount of movement in my right elbow so can sometimes control my powerchair but am currently on the long waiting list for a) attendent controls and b) sip and puff controls - but you all know how long that takes! well, in the UK! they are worse than US insurance companies!
Anyway - any idea on computer stuff? As my disease affects my speech to some extent - I pass out alot from pain and that makes my speech slurred and incoherent sometimes - so using dragon is pretty tough.. at the moment I use either my boyfriend, carers or friends to write stuff for me or type/ dragon when able. So. Any ideas? I'm also looking for a wheelchair mounted computer - any ideas as well? my condition is likely to deterioate over the next couple of years so I need something that can be bed mounted - e.g. on cot bars as well.
So... well... thankyou all!!
