I'm so happy!!! No more ridicously slow dial-up. :D Now I can watch the videos and see the pictures posted without waiting forever. Its been way too long since I've had a fast internet connection.

Next addition is a laptop and wireless internet. I should have those in time for Daytona. I'll be able to watch Nascar on tv and have Trackpass on the net. WhoooHooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :beer2:  :applaud:

Just had to tell someone. :mega:

That's great. I was using dial-up for many years before I got DSL, so I know what you mean. I finally caved-in to the pressure from everyone here.

Congats on the dsl, that sure is an upgrade from dial-up. I had cable when I was living with my Mother and that is the best! Now that I have dsl I sure do miss cable, but it's better than dial-up.

lol addie, more likely that you will spend just as much time on the computer, just surt and find more and more information that you didn't know you need!

I don't think this area will get FiOS in my lifetime. ;) Satellite is probably as good as it get in the sticks.
I'm loving DSL. At this point anything is better than 26kb/sec I was getting with dial-up.

I love it. I'm getting nothing else done though. Thought it would save me time not having to wait around all day to see a picture. Instead I do less. At least before I'd go clean up a little around the house, make a sandwich while I was waiting to see that picture.

I'm definitely gonna try trackpass during the trial period. I'm sure I'll be hooked by then and have to find the money for it someplace. :o We have dishnetwork instead of directTV. Although I've thought about switching b/c it's gonna cost more to upgrade to a DVR with dishnetwork than it will cost to switch providers and get new equipment. Crazy HUH?
I think I'll love trackpass even more this fall after ESPN starts covering the races. They are terrible!!! There's no excitement in their voices and what's with having a basketball player announcer. The NBA would flip if Mario Andretti tried to announce a pro basketball game. I'll probably end up listening to the race on the radio, watching it on tv w/ no sound and have Trackpass on the laptop. :)

Thanks for the link, tvot!! That is one beautiful car! I have a run of the mill 68 that same color.
It was my mom's college car and I can remember riding in it as a little kid. When my brother was born my parents sold it to a member of our church. Their kids and grandson drove it as a high school car. When they decided to sell it they gave my mom a chance to buy it back just in time for me to start driving. :mega: My brother and I drove it as our high school car and had way too much fun with it. ;)
A couple of our cousins wanted to buy it for their high school car but I just couldn't give it up. The chance of not getting it back was way too high. Instead it was parked in the garage till I got engaged and I wanted to drive away from the church in MY cougar.
My husband decided to switch engines a week before the wedding. :zombie:(The engine that was in it was only running on half of its cylinders.) The switch did not go well. Can you imagine how bad a bride freaks when the new engine for her car doesn't fit and there is less than a week to go???????
My husband is lucky he's still breathing!! To get the big block to fit he eventually made his own motor mounts and the engine has a slight tilt to it. Oh well, it runs good now! :o
My baby is now parked at our place waiting for me to get hand controls so I can drive it again.:(

Edited to add picture of my baby:
