Hello Dragon users
this is not very exciting but I am having an unusual problem using my otherwise reliable Dragon version 8 standard.
when I give the 'correct' command although the text that needs to be corrected is accurately recognised (as displayed the dialogue box that follows cursor) the message in the Dragon toolbar tells me no match is found?
am not sure if this is a subsequent or a causal factor but my recognition accuracy has also taken a huge dive. same computer, same microphone, same position???
I have run the audio optimisation Wizard to no effect.
anyone have any idea?

I hope someone can help you with this, Brock, I don't use that program. However, one of my assumptions is that it is not a problem with the audio recognition, but perhaps with the entire program itself. Maybe a re-install is needed? It seems as if there is more problems with it than voice recognition.
For starters, I would recommend trying a different USB headset. From what I have read, using the "Dragon NaturallySpeaking Accuracy Assistant" or the "Accuracy Center" has not helped. You might as well defrag your hard drive. Also, you may need to trash your current User Files. Finally, go to "Add or Remove Programs" and remove Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8. When removing DNS 8, there should be an option to repair Dragon. Try repairing Dragon and you may get a prompt for the installation CD during the process. If all of this fails, uninstall DNS 8 and then reinstall.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I'll try a repair. Didn't know about that. Thanks
Hi Brocko,
I went from DNS 7 Pro to DNS 9 Pro and I think DNS 8 Standard is pretty stripped down. Open DNS 8 and go to Help and then go to "Help Topics." After that click on the "Search" tab and type "Repair Dragon" for more information.
I never needed to do a repair on Dragon. Below is for version 7, so the repair option should be there for DNS 8.
Good luck!
7. If still stuck, do a "repair" installation of the program. On Windows-XP, go to Start, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. Highlight NaturallySpeaking 7, and click "Change/Remove." Click "Repair". This will end up needing the NaturallySpeaking CD.

Addendum
Brocko, please click "Change" and not "Remove." Remove may also do a repair, but I just clicked on "Change" using DNS 9.5 and it offers the repair.
Sorry!
