Hi friends,
I'm facing attacks of extreme chills for the last two days. These attacks occur at daily evening & are so extreme that I've never gone through such attacks in my twelve yrs. of disability.Urine's clear & irrigation is normal.I've been taking anti depressant Flouxitine 20 mg twice a day for the last three weeks.Plz. tell me what causes might be of these chill attacks. After these chills a light fever occurs with restlessness & mouth dryness.Thanks.

Khurram,

Even tho you say your urine is clear right now chills and slight fever are a pretty strong indication you're having a UTI or similar inflammation. I had to go to ER on a Saturday a while back for what apparently was fluid overload, was given Lasix and had a big blowout. Then later that night I got the chills, bit of fever, crummy feeling. but it wasn't till the following MONDAY that night my right testicle swelled up something big - epidydimitis. Its better now, btw. But the point being made....sometimes symptoms can show up before more obvious causes do.

Also, it could be a reaction to the new medication. Is that the correct spelling over there btw? Fluoxetine is Prozac, Fluvoxamine is Luvox. Given that Prozac takes some period of time to have a full effect this could very well be a side effect. Luvox, too. Either way, you need to contact your doctor ASAP.

You need to see your doctor right away, get a urine culture and sensitivity test started, and get onto an antibiotic. You can have a UTI with clear urine. You could also have a stone or a blockage of a ureter that can cause this. Don't wait. Septicemia can result.
