After owning my TX for two years I decided to look at the new IPOD Touch. I found the IPOD a far superior instrument with a screen display much more vivid and the case more compact then the TX. I haven't had an opportunity to try out the WIFI feature and was wondering if any one else has had a chance to try out this feature. The price at $300 is out of sight but I expect it will come down before Christmas. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I haven't tried any, but As far as I've researched, Been looking for one, the TX is basically a computer, where the Itouch is more of a toy.., Meaning, the TX can do Office and other apps, where the Itouch is more a media device.

The unfortunate thing in your comparison is the age difference. 2 yrs is a HUGE difference now a days.

But don't stop reviewing. I think with Apple marketting the hell out of this type of device, the other handheld/pdas are going to see better sales.

You are correct, the TX does have some computer functions not yet available on the IPOD. Many of the TX features are downloaded programs which Palm did not have in the beginning but became available later. I would think the with 8gb of memory Apple certainly has their eye on adding many applications that are not yet available.
