Umm, I know you love to bash Apple at every chance, but WTF? You are notified of every iTunes update, and the update has no relevance on whether or not system restore works.

Also, they aren't "hidden EXE's", they are services, and can be managed as all windows services, in the control panel.

Short version: Go ahead and bash Apple, but at least make an attempt to make it relevant.

Ummm...I do not bash apple. Never have, go check. I don't think apples done a good job of providing systems to the more advanced system persom. Why should I have to buy a $2200plus machine, thats way more powerful than i need just so I can keep my current monitor?? The Mac mini is crap for what I need, and well, Imac is just fine, but we're back to a monitor thing.
I also have issues with Mac not keeping up with 3D hardware for gaming.. The #1 activity fueling computers is gaming, and porn, but thats more the internet.

My post was to show that not only MS does sneaky things. I approved updating to Itunes, NOT to add apples programing crap for ipods, ITV's or Iphones. We can't even get Iphones in Canada yet.
They are hidden processes, there's no notice of them being installed or that they're running. I found them by looking at the task manager and noticed I had 4 more new processes running. Then had to go look at what theey were.

Oh for the record, I've used Apple/Mac computers almost exclusively up till the gov't bought me a system... thats ah since '84 and stopped in '04...

Anyway go try to fight someone else, cause I laugh at people like you E-thugs.

Maybe the second there made me too sensitive.

Regardless, Installing two extra services that the release notes make clear is far different that an automatic update that breaks recovery services on Windows.

Far more annoying to me:
Adobe installed Yahoo Toolbar by default on 7 series of reader
2kGames installing securom on Bioshock Demo
Automatic update installing defender and other crap software, instead of just updating existing software.

Never done 2kgames, but i hate adobe pushing yahoo, or even google tool bars. I always check to see what they are also sticking in there. Toolbars fortunately have end agreements that need okaying.

Defender, is actually suppose to be the better spyware checker out there, but it should be your descision if you want it or not. Fortunately, MS updates can be set to manual d/l.
