I've been using Outlook Express recently and every time I try to open it nothing happens. The cursor turns to a hour glass for a bit and then it turns back to the arrow. Nothing else happens. No error message, no this file can't be found, ect.
This started occuring after I had cleaned some junk off of my computer. I deleted some of the links and other junk that HP puts on the puter before you buy it. I think I must have inadvertently deleted something Express needs but I don't know what. I tried all of the shortcuts to open Express and all are affected. I found the application file for Express so I know I didn't delete it.

Does anybody have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
Thanks, Kristi

Missing files is a reasonable guess. You might try removing and reinstalling OE.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx?displaylang=en
go here and download Internet Explorer and install it, outlook express is part of it.
no big deal

I would start to use the full outlook and not use outlook express(if you have it) one reason is that I don't think you can backup outlook express.

Or if you're feeling adventerous, download Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/), which should find and import all your Outlook email, and is blissfully untangled from the rest of the operating system.

Thanks for the responses everyone!

Zero - I have Thunderbird but I started using OE to check my hotmail b/c Thunderbird couldn't access my hotmail anymore. How would I get Thunderbird to import the emails I have on OE?

Capn - Since I already have IE and parts of OE on my computer do I need to uninstall them before I install them from the microsoft website.
