My next door neighbor hooked up his cell phone to his computer with a special USB cable compatible with his cell phone. Any how he was able to get wireless connection using his cell phone as the modem. I have a cricket phone with unlimited minutes and long distance.

Now for my question? Can anyone come up with info on how to setup a network connection using my cell phone , using my desktop computer? I am running windows Xp service pac 2 i believe. I am using a Dell5150 Demension? I am looking for specific instructions Please?

Thanks you guys, i know i can at least get some help here. Aol doesnt seem to be able to help and cricket is to busy to help!

you either need a dial-up ISP to connect to or a data plan on your phone.

Yha, you need a data cable for your phone, then just connect to your ISP.

you might not even need the cable. if your computer and phone both have bluetooth connection, they can be paired.

you do need a data plan. also, the phone needs to support dial-up networking.

I dont have a data plan and I use my motorola razr via blue tooth. It is not illegal as long as you are using 1x instead of Digital.

Depending on what kind of phone you have there are different ways but this should give you an idea.
