Volume Control

I had an unusual experience.When I was trying to play a movie I could not get any sound. I tried to use my volume control on my task bar and it said that I had no sound mixers loaded. So I assumed that I had a corrupted file and rebooted the system. After rebooting the volume control disappeared from my taskbar but the application from the the volume control from the program worked just fine. I went to my taskbars property window and check to see that the volume control was still there and it was and it was set to always appear on the taskbar. Not a big deal but can someone suggest how I can get this volume control back on my task bar.

I found my problem which was that I had to check the box on the volume control box to have the icon appear.
