I know there has been a lot of discussion and inquiry on using the new Intel-based Macs with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and I was wondering if anyone has had success.
some interesting articles

Didn't read the links, but theres no reason BC and dragon wouldn't work. BC just makes your Mac into an expensive, yet crappy, PC.
With tweaking... Dragon should work on Parrellels running Windows.
Read them now.... Sadly nothing new to me, but the second article highly exaggerates the 3-D capability of Parrellels.......
People are using Apples Boot Camp with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and I am not aware of any issues/problems.

I don't understand why you think this. To me, it seems like the best of both computer worlds. I myself, am eagerly awaiting Octobers Leopard release.

i think this because like it or not Mac puts crappy parts into their systems. a MackBook at 1200 bucks is basically comparable to a 700 dollar PC laptop. Even the MacPro setups use crappy/old stuff. Only the cpu is uptodate.
The GPU's are from 2 years ago and cost 30% more. No Mac can deal with any of the newish graphic standards.
Yes it is good, but when a simple hardware issue is a huge limiter, it's just not acceptable. Remember bootcamp has nothing to do with OS anything, and while runing Win in BC any Windows advantage or even use is lost.
This is mine, and alot of macrumors, opinion.
I think for Liz purchasing a Mac mini makes "cents." I agree about the substandard video cards, especially with this new 20 inch iMac. I am not aware of Apple using crappy parts, but I do recall a problem with the Thermal Paste. I like the form factor and I'm not sure if you could find a 13 inch laptop that would cost a lot less. I would use the MacBook in my living room where the daylight pours in and I am worried about the glossy screen reflecting too much. I realize that the MacBook can drive a second monitor which, in my case, would have a matte screen.
When it comes to desktops, how do you beat the price of a Quad Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of RAM, for less than $700.

No Quad core system goes for under 700. They start at $2400. Only the mini is under $700 and it's a 1.8G ith crappy 950GPU.
You can get a dell with a 22" screen, 2G RAM and C2D 2G for $900, with an up todate intel gpu.
PC's only come in 13" now on higher end buisness machines, and for day to day use, I think a 15 is better than a 13.
Try and fool yourself but Macs have really let the hardware side of itself goto crap, and relies on their OS to make up for it. Now that Macs have started gaining in popularity, this is gonna kill them.
For a basic use machine, a Mac is just fine, with the windows running ability, really can come in handy...
I meant a Dell (http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=86244) desktop.
