ok ive been eating alot of instant oatmeal and it bound me up, lol. i thought it was good fiber

john,,,i feel for ya, i thought i was doing a good thing,,,jim wanted these oatmeal breakfast bars, a quick and easy breakfast thats good for ya,,,yeah right,,,ggggrrrrr, ever since he started eating these things hes had very little bowel movement,,,bound up like u, the question is what to do,,,eat very lightly until something gives; he hates taking laxatives, good luck john http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

lol, im fine now but it felt like a cork was up my ass for like 8 days. i just ate normally and nature finally took its course a few days ago. i dont believe in laxatives. but remember im inc and go on my own.
im letting everyone know oatmeal isnt good fiber.

That's the key. Oatmeal sucks up all the water in your digestive organs. Shaun is always pretty funny. Full of schite...hehe... I am glad the damn finally broke. I bet you felt twenty pounds lighter after.

water isnt the issue, i drink crazy water at least 100oz per day, so thats not a problem.

Oatmeal is is only in the mid-range of fiber content for cereals, and instant is less so. If you eat it with a lot of milk, this can be constipating for some. Insoluable fiber is the most important for bowel functioning. Instant Oatmeal has none. To get the most insoluable fiber, eat either old-fashioned rolled or steel cut oatmeal.

Regular Quaker Oats has 4 gm. (2 gm. soluable, 2 gm. insoluable) of fiber per 1/2 cup (uncooked) rolled oats.

Instant Quaker Oatmeal has 3 gm. of fiber per packet (3 gm. soluable).

Everyone does need to individually try to identify those foods that help or hinder their bowel program, and then adjust their diet accordingly. It is not the same for everyone.
