Hey, I've been setting up a new (to me) computer and I have some mismatched memory units. I believe the propper bus speed is 133MHz, but some of the units say 266 and 333. Can these be used in the setup? Will the computer slow down?

I'm a nerd-wanna-be. When I say bus speed all I can think about is a school bus!

Any help would be appreciated!

Pat

As long as they are the same type, they will dumb down in speed.

Things can only go as fast as the slowest peice.

I've been a certified nerd since high school and even I get confused by all the different types of memory they've invented in the last several years. If it was me, I'd just see if they fit in the slot, and if they did, I'd boot it up and see if the box sees all the memory. :D

Of course, I've burned stuff up with that cavalier attitude, but I've learned a lot over the years too.
