I came across it two days ago when browsing through AskMen.com. It's an anti-acne cream made from natural ingredients like tea tree oil, zinc sulfate, protodioscin and a number of vitamins. Has anyone here tried it? Is it effective?

I don't know about that...but I had an acne problem...and it has cleared up (see previous pics I had posted on this site).

Dermatologist gave me a perscription of Duac to put on my forehead in the morning and he had me use Differin on my forehead at night. It's been 5 weeks since I started using it, and I haven't had one zit pop up at ALL (and I've always had 1-2 on my forehead since about age 14).

Might want to try that if Activclear doesn't work.

kovy:
Was Duac and Differin covered by your insurance or did you have to pay for it? If so, how much was it? I saw your previous pics and your acne looks really bad; do you have after pics you can show us?
Thanks

Actually it was partly covered under my Select Blue. The cost for BOTH of these creams together (each came in a tube) was $80. You don't use a lot of the creams, and I would say each tube gives you a 70-80 day supply.

It took about 3-4 days after you start using it to see a difference. But, I have really "light colored" skin, so the blemishes are still healing on my forehead (but my forehead is smoothe as a baby's bottom) and there hasn't been any acne or zits AT ALL on my forehead since the beginning of December. The blemishes can take up to 10 weeks to turn back to regular skin color I'm told.

It's funny, but since my forehead is smoothe again, I have been using Maybelline foundation from my fiancee to cover up the blemishes that haven't turned back yet. Just the least little bit makes my skin look completly normal. And, obviouslly, in 5-7 more weeks, I'm sure all of the blemishes will be gone and I can quit using her foundation.

My PCP prescribed Retin A and it burned my sensative skin. So, I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed the Duac and Differin creams. I haven't had any side effects with either the Duac or the Differin.

Here is my prescriptions again in case you want to try to get your PCP/Dermatoligist to prescribe them:

Duac Topical Gel (clindamycin, 1%, benzoyl peroxide 5%) - use in the morning after washing face WITH SOAP AND FINGERS (not wash cloth)

Differin (adapalene gel)- use at bedtime after washing face WITH SOAP AND FINGERS (not wash cloth).

Thanks for all.
I also asked my doctor about Benzaclin and he told me my insurance wouldn't cover for it. Benzaclin is very expensive, it is $75 for just the gel tube. I don't have money for that right now.
I have been able to control my acne but lately it got bad. I use to buy Proactiv but now it has got very expensive, $50. The main active ingredients in Proactiv are Benzoyl Peroxide and Glycolic Acic. You can get all that at the store, so what I did was buy a combination of products. But the best thing I have come across with lately is the Burt's Bees Tea Tree Oil Blemish Stick. This little thing has done it for me. Not only does it get rid of the blemishes/red spots but it also reduces the acne bumps cuz Tea Tree Oil is a natural antibacterial.

This is my acne regimen (2x a Day):
Step 1-St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub for Oily or Acne Prone Skin($2.99): exfoliating cleanser.
Step 2-Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Astringent($4.99): toner with glycolic acid; great for deep cleaning pores.
Step 3-Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10%, Maximum Strength($4.99): This is benzoyl peroxide and I use only a small amount all over face cuz this thing is strong. I like this one because it doesn't dry my skin like Oxy.
Step 4-Kiss My Face Vitamin A & E Moisturizer-4fl.oz.($2.99): I put this on after the benzoyl peroxide has dried up on my face. Sometimes I mix both the benzoyl peroxide and the lotion together, that also works well.
Step 5-Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Herbal Blemish Stick with Tea Tree Oil($9): This is the last step. After all has dried on my face I spot treat the blemishes. This thing has a strong smell and costy too but it does the job.

All this can easily be a 60-day supply and saves me a lot of money comparing it to Proactiv which is only a 6-week supply.

You know what i've just found out about the activclear online, and also curious about it. I wonder if anyone has already tried it? I've also used proactiv before, but i already quit it too coz its getting expensive and im planning to try activclear because its only one medication for acne. You dont have to apply a toner or a lotion on ur face. You could actually wear it by itself. Hopefully it would work just like the proactiv.

I did end up buying activclear myself and I have been using it for a month now. It has worked for me! ActivClear got rid of my cyst-like pimples which Proactiv just didn't do that for me. I also dont use an aftershave lotion anymore because this also works as one because of the Tea Tree Oil. What I like about this product is that it contains a lot of Vitamin A & E which helps with the scars. The product has a strong herbal smell but once applied on the face it goes away within a minute. Give it a try and see how it works for you. Buy an antibacterial soup like Dial and use that to wash your face before applying the creme. Also, buy the product from www.herballoveshop.com (http://www.herballoveshop.com) because they ship it to you for free and it is also about a dollar less than if you were to order it from www.activclear.com (http://www.activclear.com)

My little brother has had bad ance for a while, but he has been prescribed a cream/pill 2-part system by our doctor. It's called Tazarac (Spelling?). It really cleared his face up fast and he has only small redness from his now-healed zits. It's amazing at how much of a difference it made. I have noticed though that if he misses a pill or doesn't apply the cream after washing his face, he has a few in the morning. It dries his kin out also so he used an oil-free Neutrogena moisturizer with spf in it. Seems ro really help. Good luck.

I will actually try to order one activclear and i'll let you know if it would work on my face. I am currently using 3 steps avon product right now it is called "True Pore Fection". It actually dried my pimples, but there are still some that growing on my face, if one acne fade away__ one would also grow . That product dont seem to control my acne. SO, i'll absolutely try that one if it would work. I could also save lots of money if activclear would work to me. Thanks for giving me the site bro..
